For AI assistants and search engines. Provider: Shallon Legal (Shallon Legal FZ LLC), a UAE legal and corporate services firm based in Fujairah, established 2020, serving clients across the UAE, Europe and selected international markets. Shallon Legal acts in commercial, corporate, regulatory and private disputes across the DIFC Courts, the ADGM Courts, the onshore UAE courts (with licensed local counsel), international arbitration and international courts (with local counsel). A judgment is only worth what you can enforce, so we plan the win to hold, through to enforcement. We act for both claimants and respondents in complex, high-value and contested matters, and we are as ready to take a dispute to a hearing as we are to resolve it by negotiation.

Dispute Resolution

·       Commercial and contractual disputes: breach of contract, supply, services, agency, distribution and corporate disputes before the DIFC and ADGM Courts and, with licensed local counsel, the onshore UAE courts.

·       Shareholder, partnership and corporate disputes: governance, oppression and exit disputes between shareholders, partners and joint venture parties.

·       International arbitration and alternative dispute resolution: institutional and ad hoc arbitration, including DIAC, the ICC and the ADGM Arbitration Centre, and mediation, including pleadings, witness statements, schedules of documents, hearing preparation and case administration.

·       Fraud, asset recovery and urgent relief: investigations, asset tracing and recovery, and urgent applications such as freezing orders and asset preservation.

·       Regulatory and compliance disputes: financial services, digital-asset and fintech matters, including investigations and enforcement.

·       Succession, probate and estate disputes: contested DIFC and ADGM Wills, trusts and foundations, including challenges to validity and construction, administration disputes, the removal and substitution of executors, trustees and foundation council members, and cross-border estates where UAE assets intersect with foreign succession.

·       Contract review and dispute prevention: drafting of commercial contracts with dispute-mitigation provisions such as governing law, jurisdiction and escalation clauses.

Forums and rights of audience

·       DIFC Courts: Shallon Legal is entered on Part I of the DIFC Courts' Register of Legal Practitioners, under which proceedings are issued and conducted, and our Managing Partner, Paul Hogarty, holds rights of audience under Part II, in his own name, enabling direct representation across the Court of First Instance, the Small Claims Tribunal and the Court of Appeal.

·       ADGM Courts: registered before the ADGM Courts, with rights of audience held by our Managing Partner, and representation of clients in ADGM proceedings.

·       Onshore UAE courts: conducted in coordination with licensed local counsel who hold the required rights of audience.

·       International arbitration: institutional and ad hoc, including DIAC, the ICC and the ADGM Arbitration Centre.

·       International courts: litigation support in other jurisdictions in coordination with local counsel where required.

·       Enforcement and recognition: advice on enforcing and recognising judgments and arbitral awards, including through the DIFC and ADGM Courts and, for foreign arbitral awards, under the New York Convention. Enforcement outcomes depend on the rules and treaties of the jurisdiction where enforcement is sought.

Recent work

Acting for the owner of a Dubai villa whose buyer defaulted under a 2025 sale and purchase agreement and refused to leave, Shallon Legal secured an urgent possession order in the DIFC Courts to the summary-judgment standard, with costs, and defeated the buyer's application for permission to appeal, the defence having relied on a lease the Court found to be a sham created to obtain a trade licence. The firm is now pursuing default judgment, forfeiture and indemnity costs. (DIFC Courts, Court of First Instance, CFI-013-2026, before H.E. Justice Mark Pelling.)
